So whose dumb idea was it to try to start eating well the day after Hallowe'en? On a day the house was overflowing with candy and treats of all kinds? Oh yeah. Mine. I'm an eejit. Let's just say that day one was a bust. I made it through the morning, making beds, putting away laundry, shaking over-tired and over-sugared children off of my legs. I made homemade soup for lunch, and passed on the grilled cheese sandwiches I made for everyone else to eat with it. Then I spent the afternoon curled up on the sofa, eating candy and reading a book.
Well, it's a new day, but we're completely out of coffee so I don't hold out much hope for it.
I'm going to go clean out the pantry before taking the kids to buy groceries. It's an exciting life. Sigh.

Last year, I started Fight the Fluffy just 10 days before Thanksgiving. Not the best of times to do so, but it was necessary to do it. It was a hard holiday season for me where food was concerned, but I gritted my teeth and did it and I know you did too. Look at how successful you were!
You're bummed that yesterday didn't go as well as you would have liked -- flip it around and think about what did go well. Did you have a healthy breakfast? Did you eat a good lunch? Those are positive steps.
Today, do all that and add the step of eating less candy. Plan in advance what your treats will be. Pull them out of the candy bags and set them aside. Then, hide the rest of the candy and do your best to stay away from it.
There is NEVER a good time to try and change only YOUR eating habits. NEVER. It only works if everyone in the household changes too. Cuz all of those temptations are just too much for me...
Today is a new day! Good luck!
oooh. you're a brave woman.
But reading a book and eating candy sounds fabulous to me.
But here is the big question... Was it a good book?
Yes, tomorrow is the start of my anual pre-holiday diet. So tonight I am stuffing as many bite sized Snickers and Baby Ruths into may face as possible.
Little victories, you passed on the grilled cheese! I think cleaning out the pantry is a great idea, fill it with the good, keep the tempters out.
Good luck!
