Parties and Pools and Purses

My baby girl turned 5 yesterday. It has been a busy week. We celebrated with a party on the weekend, complete with the requested Princess Castle cake. It was lovely to have the house full of our beloved friends and family, but the party only kicked off the excitement.

We packed up the car on Monday morning and left for Niagara Falls right after swimming lessons. The kids loved the Falls, and the waterpark in our hotel, and all of the tacky amusements and concessions available on Clifton Hill.

We got back yesterday afternoon - just in time to leave again for the Princess's ballet lesson. I'dve skipped it, but the first class of each month is 'dress-up', and I would never have been forgiven for missing it. After dancing I cooked a late dinner, we ate the leftover castle and the birthday girl opened her presents from us before collapsing into bed. I wish I could say I joined her, but I had to make birthday cupcakes for her to take to school today. I think that mommy needs a present.

And what better present than a new handbag? Check out this new website, http://www.handbagplanet.com/, and the FREE!!! handbags they're giving away to celebrate their launch. And I really hope that y'all win one....just not the one I want!

Wow, what a cool cake! Did you make it? I need to make a rollercoaster cake soon, but can't find much help online, so just curious!
