Resentment
I love my kids. But sometimes.... Like this morning. They were playing quietly, and I decided to run upstairs and make the beds. That decision cost me 20 minutes of scrubbing crayon off the walls in the hallway. Which made me look closely at how dirty and scuffed those walls really are. ANd how dirty the floor is, even though I just mopped it yesterday afternoon. Sigh. Get your shoes on kids - we're going to the mall. Retail therapy - plus someone else is paid to clean there.

I hear ya! I view outings as a way to keep the house from further deteriorating into chaos -- if we're not home, we're not making a mess!
Hey, I'm going shopping myself today to escape.
Housekeeping with children is so extremely frustrating. I only have six more to move out until I have hope of a clean house. But the bedroom will still be messy, because (counting my blessings) I will still have my sweet Nacho to mess things up a bit.
We repainted the house our kitchen reno last summer. Seven years after we first moved in because we figured, with the kids...
Our bedroom still has pen drawings near the headboard. Upstairs is next on the agenda... maybe in another 7 years when the girl turns 10 ...
Glad to see you back!
