The Princess: "Mo-o-o-mmmy! Why did you have to bring the car to pick me up from school?"
Me: "Because it's really cold, it's minus 12!"
The Princess: "But Mo-o-o-o-om! I don't like riding in the car with my whole snowsuit on. I wanted to walk!"
Me: "We have to go pick up your brother from the babysitter, and it's too far for you to walk after school."
The Princess: "But Mo-o-o-mmmy! WHY did you have to bring the car? I don't WANT to ride in the car!"
Me: "Because I'm a cruel, evil monster, and because I'm trying to ruin your life."
The Princess (giggling now): "Mom, you're silly!"

Mine used to laugh. Now they roll their eyes and sigh.
Ditto Jen. My older two used to think I was hilarious, now they either roll their eyes or say "Yes, you are!"
