It's a good thing I have no shame....

For the first time ever, after almost 3 years (total) of nursing, I have a clogged milk duct. It is painful, and I am trying to prevent it becoming full-blown mastitis. So that's why, when the courier came to the door just now, he was able to peer through the window and watch me standing at the counter, shirt up, hand-expressing breast milk into the kitchen sink.

i'm sure you made his day!
heating pads and hot showers . . . (I used a wet - with water - diaper microwaved for a couple of seconds and it helps a lot)

Ummm.... I guess this probably is painful. Since I have never breast fed and all...

I will take your word that this is a bit of an ouchy situation.

Feel better! (?? Is that appropriate??) I am so ignorant.

Heh, considering I spent today telling my SIL how HUGE and SORE my boobs are and that orgasms will help her headaches, I don't think I have any modesty either.

Avoid mastitis like the plague. It made me want to die.

I am trying to prevent blocked ducts at the moment. We are at 51.5 hours since Amy's last feed.

I'm sure that was great for him ;).
But ouchie on the blocked duct! I think I had that one time only (I was lucky!) Soooo not fun! Mastitis, please stay away!

Oh dear.
Hang in there. I had mastitis several times with Matt. Have you tried cabbage in your bra? Everyone told me to try that, but it never really worked that well.

Feel better soon!

Motherhood is a beautiful, beautiful thing. That sometimes involves expressing milk into the sink while the delivery man watches.
Beautiful.

There is not much dignity left is there?! There is nothing worse than mastitis, not even flashing a delivery dude! lol. I just got a visual. hopefully you'll recover quickly and avoid the dreaded M!!! I only had it once and that was enough for me!

OUCH, I hope you feel better soon.
I once flashed my breasts at the UPS guy by accident. Now he just throws my deliveries on the porch and runs away.

Oh no! But at least you gave him a good story to tell later today.
And kickass congrats on breastfeeding for so long. That is commendable.

That stinks! I had that happen a few times with P but I have been lucky and not had that this time around. They can be painful - hope that you are doing better. Bet he didn't expect that for a peep show :)

Yowza! Hope the boob is better soon. I've BTDT (2 yrs into nursing...) and it's no good.

Be well soon.

Got better quick though, what a pain!!

I've heard of women who have their husbands "help" with that - now aren't you glad the guy didn't see that? :)
